A sci-fi original character tournament.

:bulletblue:Newest News:bulletblue:

:bulletblack: On indefinite hiatus. See journal for more info. Online from 8/8/11-11/24/12, a good life.

Head on over to the Journal tab at the top for a quick and organized view of all you need to know to compete.

:bulletorange:Introduction:bulletorange:

The cyberpunk tropical world of Zevir is no island paradise. A magnetic field around the planet damages all electronic technology that passes through it and brings spaceships crashing down to the surface, cutting them off from the rest of the galaxy. All manner of different peoples and species are forced to rebuild on the world by scrapping together whatever they can to make a living.
In time, the people organized and christened their new islands the archipelago of Salvage, with the island of Zevir as its capital. They established order under Garriban, the self-pronounced king.
But it was only a matter of time before the world split into different factions, different people wanting different things. And with factions came disagreements and then violence. Now the factions are at one another's throats in a power struggle and are searching for anything, or anyone, that could tip the balance and bring their faction to power.

So what do you say? Will you tip the balance and stand behind a faction? Or will you use the chaos to claim the power for your own? Or maybe you had something else in mind entirely...

This is where our part of the story stops, and where your tale begins.

Zevir-OCT

Wanted- PRIZES! Please go to the prize blog in order to offer a prize.
I will be succinct in this matter, Zevir-OCT is going on indefinite hiatus and inactive status pending immediately.  I am afraid that I must regretfully inform you all that the OCT will not be starting up now and we do not know if or when it will in the future.  We have had insufficient turnout to begin the rounds over the course of a year with open auditions and thus I have, at last, come to this decision.
I know many people put in a lot of time, effort and creativity to try to get this OCT going and I would like to thank and acknowledge them for all their work.
Leafa/HerbalJabbage, CrowbarTKHullo, IrateResearchers, Qui-Non-Stultus, and Hanaeason, I want to thank all of you guys for your hard work as judges and moderators for this site; we could not have gotten this far without you guys.  I know that you guys couldn't be here all the time and that, hey, life happens, but I am still grateful and indebted to you.
I also need to thank OCT-Followers for getting our name out there and keeping people up to date.  You guys helped us keep a steady audience.  And speaking of support, I thank all those who offered prizes for this OCT, even if they will not come to fruition now with the tourney on hiatus, you helped bring people to our page and supported us in the beginning.
And, of course, I must thank the contestants who completed auditions or entries for this OCT.  You put your hearts into your work and you will be rewarded for it; I will be creating a page of drawings for all your characters and posting it here.  I know it isn't much or what you probably hoped for, but it's what I can offer.  Thank you guys for showing up, competing and having faith in us.  We hope that you continue to enter into the OCT scene and that this does not dampen your spirits.
We have learned a lot as a group and as individuals over the year and several months that this OCT has been open.  We've made a much better page than we started with, or at least we'd like to think so.  :)  We've gained a steady following and crafted a story that we hope to see return someday.  And we've managed to hold together as a group through all the hiccups that got in the way.  I am thankful for everything the Zevir team has done as we went through this process.  We have a strong group of committed individuals and their creative work that helped build this OCT and I hope to see them all continue working in the genre.  And, if we ever start back up or start another project, we'll be sure to let all of you know.
Until then, this is Zevir-OCT, signing off.

We'll keep everyone informed of any future projects. No guarantees, but we might have something new to show everyone someday.

We're actually deliberating whether or not to continue with this OCT. I'm not sure how many contestants we have at the moment (just now recovering from No Sleep November due to classes), but I've contacted the founder of what our plan will be. Point being, don't lose hope just yet. c:

One of us will get to you shortly c:

I think they are still in a grace period if you think you can put something together in the next couple days.

Not likely, but worth a shot. Still, the journal says the last day was Friday. I'll put something together, but I think the deadline has passed for good.

I'm sure they will let you in. I think we were only one person short anyway, and you might be it.

That would appear to be the case. :( Don't worry, we'll have an official announcement prepped for later today.
